Projects

Since 1991, Ian Ellis has been specialising in the restoration of Classic Alfa Romeos from the 105 series and  has developed a reputation as one of the primary marque experts in the UK. He has recently relocated to a 3000sq ft unit in Plumpton Green, East Sussex, which offers clients a professional environment, leaving them with the assurance of the highest quality care.

With the step up in business premises, the appointment of 2 best in class mechanics and an over-flowing order book the business finds it’s self rapidly expanding. For this reason it is time to address the brand identity and particularly the website, so that the brands shop window matches the potential of the workshop.

While the Alfa Romeo marque is obviously central to the business, what gives Ian Ellis Alfa Romeo it’s uniqueness is Ian himself. Each project undertaken by Ian is approached with expertise and passion in equal measures. This is something that shines through from his prodigious Instagram feed, which has now afforded him the title ‘Alfa Pope’.

The central strand of the brand identity borrows from the Giulia Super boot badge. We also weave in elements of Ian’s personality: The halo over the quadrifoglio, references the Alfa Pope moniker, while the rainbow accent colours are inspired by Ian’s days as a racing cyclist, re-interpreted through the Alfa Romeo colour book.

The project has also afforded us the opportunity to shoot a lot of the finished cars as they leave the doors of the premises, meaning that we continue to have an on-going relationship with Ian and these beautiful machines.
