My Granddad brought his family to Brighton on summer day trips, to escape a drab post-war London. He found utopia in a pot of cockles, a deck chair and a bottle of light ale. I found a utopia of my own in a city with broad horizons, which is what inspired me to set up a studio here in 2010.

Nissan’s brief to communications agency Proud Robinson was to create a sampling experience that could be toured across Europe to promote the all electric Nissan Leaf. It’s success would be measured by the number of test drives that were achieved in each of it’s destinations.
Proud Robinson’s response was to create a bespoke Pop Up touring pavilion that would drive footfall by serving fresh coffee in an entertaining brand emersion space. This was quite simply named Nissan Pop-Up Cafe. Another Bearded Designer was commissioned to develop the brand identity for the space and created a mark that reflect the ‘pop-up’ structure. The overall identity would have to fall in line with the simplicity of the Nissan Leaf brand that reflects the clean ‘zero emissions’ credentials of the car.
