Introducing

My Granddad brought his family to Brighton on summer day trips, to escape a drab post-war London. He found utopia in a pot of cockles, a deck chair and a bottle of light ale. I found a utopia of my own in a city with broad horizons, which is what inspired me to set up a studio here in 2010.

Having gained a wealth of experience in agency-land, we pull on this knowledge to offer creative solutions across a variety of brand challenges. We believe in simple, direct communication and apply this to print, screen and environmental design.

Please take some time to look at the work and give us a call.

    B&A London Journal I
    Brief

Bernstein & Andriulli represent some of the brightest talents in photography and illustration. Having produced a series of promotional journals to help promote artists represented by their New York office, B&A London contacted ABD to produce a similar publication to promote the London roster of artists. The brief was to work to the same format and grid as the NY editions but to develop a playful typographic solution for each of the artist’s headlines.

    Solution

Our approach was to pick out specific idiosyncrasies from each of the featured works and to develop a playful twist to the typography that would work in harmony with the piece. We picked up on the content of each composition and developed the treatment dependent on the most dominant element of the piece. The variety helps create a playful, separation between the artists as well as creating a varied rhythm throughout the journal.
